Everyone from the receptionist to the nurses and surgical staff were so nice which put me at ease immediately. There was a problem with my eyes not dilating but the staff was so patient. I will be going back in 16 days for the other eye to be operated on, and will be more relaxed knowing what to expect!
I had the distinct pleasure of visiting the center for cataract surgery on my right eye on August 30, 2016. The office is nice, the staff wonderful and the procedure went fine. I will be going back again next week for my second eye. I highly recommend them and my doctor, Dr. Balin.

Cataract Surgery Procedure at the Cataract & Laser Center West
My first cataract surgery was on my right eye on 7/8/2021 and my second surgery on my left eye one week later. I was extremely nervous going into this surgery. From the time I walked through the door until I left. Everyone from the receptionist to the nursing staff, to the anesthesiologist, and finally to Dr. David Shield treated me with the utmost respect. They all could see how nervous I was and assured me that most patients do experience anxiety and they were all wonderful at calming me down. In fact, by my second surgery a week later I was much calmer and could observe the professional way the staff went about their business. They have a well-oiled routine in place, which is very comforting to the patient. Both surgeries were successful. I just cannot get over how clear my vision is; it is just remarkable. I highly recommend the Cataract & Laser Center West, as they truly do make the patient feel they are a high priority.
